I want to learn more about buying stocks and investing. Can you please recommend some good beginners books?

  1. Motley Fool has a great series of books and a great site. Fool.com and on the web they have investing basics. You will need a broker I recommend E trade or such. If you are eligible USAA is also very good.

    Getting Started in Stocks by Alvin D. Hall was probably the best for me just to understand where to start and the basics written in plain english as much as possible. When I first got started in trading I bought like ten books at once but that one was a good beginner book:

    And then Getting Started in Technical Analysis is real good to understand how to analyze charts after you read the first one:

    And also Making Money in Stocks by William O’ Neil is both a good book for a value investing strategy or if you don’t choose to use his strategey the book is just good all around for easy to understand info:

  4. The Little Book that Beats the Market, by Joel Greenblatt. Great short book. Here are some stocks that meet his criteria:
