  3. I was in your same position a few weeks ago and this is what I did. I opened a sharebuilder account (you could try any online site, I just used this one because it was easiest for me) and just started investing. I have made some mistakes but I am learning as I go and not using huge amounts of money. Put a little money in at a time (Iook up dollar cost averaging) and do a lot of research on where you are putting your money. I think for some of the money it can be okay to follow your instincts but that can make for a bigger risk. The other thing I highly recommend is the million dollar challeng on cnbc.com You can invest in the market with money that is not yours and learn that way and also compete for prizes. I believe if you search the web there may also be other sites that would help you practice this way also. These are just my suggestions as I have found it most helpful to learn by doing
Best of luck, I agree it seems like a good time to invest now, for those of us who have been able to save up some money.

  4. Go to which is Investor’s Business Daily online.

At their homepage locate the “How To Invest” section on the left side of the screen.
    Click on “Investor’s Corner”.
Once that screen comes up click on “View Archive”.
The archive contains lots of informative articles that will help you understand the stock market, trading stocks, etc.
