How can I combine two hard drives to form one logical partition?
Jack P asked:
I just bought 2 identical 640Gb hard drives in hopes of combining them into one logical drive to store movies, music, and other network files for my home server/entertainment box. I will be reinstalling windows media center edition. Anybody know what I am going to have to do to combine the two HDDs?

youll need to set up a RAID. google it
You can’t combine the two hard drive to make it a 1280meg hard drive with one logical drive because each hard drive needs to be recognize therefore they need a logical drive.
As far as RAID goes you will loose the second hard drive space, because if i’m not mistaken you will have double file one in each drive this is why it double the access speed and also prevent lost file and supposedly prevent corruption but I doubt that one since one being the duplicate of the other both would be corrupt.
Sorry
P.S buy a tetrabyte hard drive instead there are cheaper and it is better than paying hardware or/and software plus loosing time with that matter.
