How do you get the silver trim off the LG enV2?

The silver trim or lining chips off the enV2 when you drop it. My friend who has the same phone had the same problem. One of his friends somehow got all of the silver trim off so that the black under the silver trim was the only thing left. The phone looks a lot better now, even better than it did new with the silver trim. My friends doesn’t know how he did it though. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this silver trim off???
