How do you put 2 hard drives together?

Let me ask this question again with more details…
I made the mistake of accidently partitioning my hard drive twice, and now they won’t go back together.
There is 10 GB on the C drive, there’s supposed to be about 40 GB. The other 30 is not partitioned, but I want to put the additional 30 GB to my hard drive.
So in other words, I want my C drive to be 40 GB.
Thanks.
This is all in one hard drive.
I don’t want to spend money on a program like partition magic to do this. I just want it done so I can work on my computer again…
Save your data, repartition the drive into one partition, and reformat the drive.
I think the best thing for you to do is to
1.) Backup your data that you want and reformat the drive with the Windows XP cd. This will allow you to get use of all those unpartitioned
2.) Go to websites like and find a freeware that will accomplish what you are trying to do. Type different search criteria to find the right program for you.
I would recommend trying number 2 first because it will take less time and you would not have to back up anything. Good luck on your mission! ^_^
Reinstall Windows Xp… Do this from boot up, when it says press any key to boot from cd… As part of windows set up it will talk about partitions… delete all your current partitions… then create a new partition for 40 gb… then format, then continue to install xp.
you will lose all your data so back everything up first…
The only way I know of is reinstalling the operating system, during the installation process you should be able to delete all partitions and start over fresh (with 40GB)
Partition Magic will do this for you but it does cost some money. If you don’t want to spend any money then you can create this space as another drive letter.
Go to Control Panel
Then Administrative Tools
Computer Management
Select Disk Management
It should show the disk space unused
If required format this space as ntsf
Then you can assign it as a new drive letter and you computer will use this space.
