How Does Dating Now Differ From Dating Back Then?
Sammikins asked:
I′m writing a report on how modern dating is different from dating in the past. I now have a subject but I′m not sure where to start.
I′m writing a report on how modern dating is different from dating in the past. I now have a subject but I′m not sure where to start.
How far should I refer to? Are there websites/articles on this (I can’t seem to find many)? Where exactly should I turn to?
I know what I want to say but I need concrete evidence andreferences to back up my case. Thanks in advance.
Back in the day guys were gentlemen and open the door for u now they burp around you and don’t care about anything only about “get some”
Dating in the past wasn’t really dating at all, it was all about courtships. You barely met the person you end up marrying to some degree. You observe them, and their personality and habits and decided weather or not you wanted to ask them to marry you after months of observation. It sounds stalker’ish by todays standards, but at least it prevents teenage pregnancies.
And even further back, it use to be arranged marriages. Men and women never even touched each other before marriage, period. Parents arranged marriages for benefiting their families.
If you really want the truth, stop at your local nursing home and ask someone at the front desk if someone in activities can point you in the right direction. Residents love to reminice and you will get your concrete answers. Good luck.
People are a lot more forward these days. Back in my day we weren’t so fast into a relationship. We didn’t even kiss until the second or third date or longer. Anything faster would result in being called easy (for girls) or well, yahoo doesn’t allow words like that to be printed for the guys. Back in my day, being a gentleman was foremost on our mind or at least my mind. Today it’s more like you ask if they want to have sex on the first date. Everything was relevant to what class of person you were in. I was in the lower middle class. I’m 51 years old now and I still like to show I’m a gentleman.
