How to record my video games?

CJ asked:

I have a video camera with av cables that can connect to my tv. Is there a way i can plug my camera into my tv and have the video game being played back on my camera so i can record it ? I have read some things that say i need “video output” on the back of my tv, but it doesnt have that. Is there a way i can get that.

  1. The video jacks on cameras usually output to something else. You need a cheap VCR. Connect your game system to the INPUT on the VCR, and then connect the OUTPUTs on the VCR to your TV.

  2. Hook-Up Your Game System To A VCR Or A Tivo.

    To Hook-up A Tivo:

    -Open The Tivo’s Box

-Take-Out The Coaxial Cable From The Back Of Your TV Set

-Put Your Cable To “IN” On The Tivo’s Coaxial Cable Input

-Take Another Coaxial Cable, (Supplied From The Tivo’s Box)

-Screw-In Or Push-On the coaxial cable from “OUT” On The Tivo’s RF Coaxial Cable Inputs.

-Then, Insert The Coaxial Cable Into The TV.

-Call Tivo To Activate The Box

    For A VCR:

    METHOD #1
    A/V

-Take The VCR From The Box

-In Your Hand, Hold RCA A/V Cables (Not Usually Included With The VCR)

-Plug The A/V’S Into The Vcr’s “OUT”

-Plug The A/V’S Other End Of the cables into the “IN” On The TV.

-Turn To The Appropriate VIDEO Channel

-Turn On The VCR To The Appropriete Line-In Channel

-Insert A Tape Into The VCR

    -Push Record.

    Method #2
    Coaxial Cable Hook-Up

-Take The VCR Out Of The Box It Came In

-In Your Hand, Take A Coaxial Cable (Supplied With Every VCR Sold)

-Take The Coaxial Cable Already In Your TV Out

-Put It In The “IN” On The VCR

-Take The Other Coaxial Cable, (The Supplied One) And Screw Or Push, (Depending On Weather Your Coax Is Push Or Screw) And Put It Into The TV.

    -Turn-On Your TV

-Tune The TV To Channel “3″

    -Turn-on Your VCR

-Tune It To The Appropriate Input, Video Or Line Channel.

    -Turn-On Your Gaming System

-Insert A Tape Into The VCR

    -Push Record
