How would a Cell membrane be compared to a baseball team?
swander57 asked:
for a biology project we are to compare parts of the Eukartotic Cell with something and I chose a baseball team. How would a cell membrane be compared to that, ex. The nucleus is like the General Manager
thanks Alex! that’s all I needed (but im sure i’ll be back)
when i can I′ll give you the best answer
you too Rudy S.

The cell membrane could be the walls of the stadium…. people come in, players are inside.
Ask anything else and I’ll be sure to answer… i had to do the same thing in 10th grade!

Hmm thats a hard one,
Think of your cell membrane as being a barrier or something that can keep certain molecules in and out. A baseball team playing defense while the other team bats could be considered to be like a membrane that plays defense against unwanted molecules.
Well there are many parts to a cell membrane. The biggest part the membrane could be the stadium. Included in this membrane are many parts that can be the players. Some are active which could be the outfielders who run a lot, the passive proteins could be the catcher, since they don’t really move to much in the game. You could use the receptors on the membrane to be the first baseman, because they are always being used and a first baseman is always getting the ball thrown to him. I don’t know how in depth you need this answer but if you need more just let me know. This should get you a good start.
