If God exists, why is he allowing countless people to be laid off and struggling in this recession?

gffg asked:

and allows them to go all the way to the point of committing suicide? Why is he allowing it to happen to good, honest people?

It’s only going to get worse.. Then what?

  1. if we all evolved over hundreds of millions of years wouldnt this world be perfect?

  2. Quit blaming God! Man himself is responsible for all that is going on in the world today….Due to our selfish ways…

  3. WHo caused the recession in the first place? Not God.

He is not to blame. I blame greedy people.

You surely are a pessimistic person.

  4. I dunno…maybe He wanted Obama to win the election.

Hon, read the Bible. Jesus promises us a life of persecution, poverty and suffering if we follow Him.

Being wealthy is not what’s best for people spiritually

  6. For spiritual guidence here read the Book of Job

God has nothing to do with a recession. If bad things didn’t exist, neither would good things. We live in the world of the relative. Also this world is based on CHOICE. WE CHOSE THIS RECESSION…

God does exist, and He warned us these kinds of things would happen.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

    And

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.” (II Timothy 3:1)

It’s all a part of the Fall of Mankind, and the selfishness we exhibit as a result.

It isn’t God’s fault that CEOs are idiots who don’t know how to properly run a business.

  10. You know recession happen every 5 to 7 years so it has nothing to do with God.

God is responsible for earthquake and hurriances but not for recessions

  11. why is that the people who say there is no God, will blame Him when something happens that is not good? My husband and I have struggled for years with health issues and finances due to disabilities. I have never blamed God for this- He could change our circumstances absolutely- but He is God and He has given us far more than money and health- He has given us a personal relationship with Himself- and the grace, provision and strength to persevere under the trials.

It could be for a number of reasons. I can’t pretend to answer for God but some reasons may be for the following.

He can’t put someone where He wants them unless He first removes them from where they are.

It may be to test a persons faith, resolve, perseverance or their response to an action.

Another reason may be that He is simply allowing mankind to exercise their free will. God is in control but He doesn’t control the actions of mankind.

  13. Why is this God’s fault. If people would only do his will, this would not be happening. Unfortunately it is now our nature to rebel.

  14. This goes back to Adam and Eve why did they disobey?

Because of free will our problems are not because of God but our failure to recognize who he is and to trust Him to take care of us in other words most people reject God causing our problems. Consider this.

    2Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

You are blaming the wrong God. the one you need to blame is the thief (the devil). The one true God who is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is not the thief. The one true God only gives good. Read for yourself.

    John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

    James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

God says He only gives good so the evil you are seeing is from another source as God wants us to have life and have it more abundantly, fully, richly.

  15. He doesn’t exist. But if he did, he must either not be all-powerful, or not be all-loving.

  16. I agree with FC even though im only 14. asked my mom this too and she states that :

god gave us the gift that the angdon’tdont have. free will. god loves us soooooooooo much that doesn’t stop us from making the baddecisionss. he tryies to lead you away from thodecisionsons. doesn’tsnt stop you from making the decisionion because to stop it would be taking away your free will.

even though people say that there is no god, i say there is. because he is truly loving. and you may think he might not be cuz of all the bad things happining but truly he is being more loving than ever.

  17. Aoa brother …if you look at the history god has made some rules about life for all human beings…. the more I have read them the more I have found that they are only for our betterment…. I mean who can think of betterment of a man more than his tru creator…. If we had followed those rules and not been greedy… This global recession would never have happened e.g If US could have used the billions of dollars it spent on war in developing businesses and creating more jobs this global recession would never have came about. please try to look….it is only when a man tries to disobey god does he harm himself…. We can’t blame god he has given us a path to follow and if we don’t follow it we will destroy ourselves sooner our later….
