One Response to “In 1-fluoropentane does the fluoride form hydrogen bonds to hydrogens on the carbon 5 methyl group?”
No, the hydrogens bonded to carbon will essentially never form hydrogen bonds.
The favored configuration will be “anti” rather than “gauche.”
