Is it bad to run a motor while it is not in motion? (not sure of technical words :P)?

The motor should be ok as long as the air intake and exhaust is free.
While short periods of this wont hurt it extended running might overheat the engine. Even though the ducted air is passing over the engine it’s not as much airflow as there would be with the plane in flight.
It will wear out the motor quicker if you do it at full revs -
The main damage could be to engine mounts / supports
Well I have a family member who has a a couple of Ducted Fan jets, and I have my gold wings and have flown them. There is no harm done at all. It cant crash anyway.
I have flown Models since 5yrs old, and stopped when I discovered Girls!! They are more fun inverted, doing rolls, and dives!!! I once flew 2 girls at once!!! abit tricky when trying to do a split s though!!!!
gas engine? You don’t want to do this indoors, the fumes would be bad for you.
