yes. keep them together. most of the time the female will lay on them and the male may lay on them if the female gets really hunger but most of the time the female will only get up if she feels it is safe to get up and eat and drink. the eggs should hatch in 2-3 weeks

  3. It is safe to keep them together until the eggs hatch, but afterwards it may not be. When my hen’s eggs hatched my male, Rocko, was aggressive towards the ducklings and I had to separate him from them until they were older.

It’s possible that your male may not care about them at all, but he may also become aggressive. Rocko didn’t ever attack them, but he would chase them off whenever they came near.

  4. I am an avid breeder of ducks chickens peacocks and many more for over 20 years and yes you should keep the male in with the female. Ducks group together young and old its how they protect themselves from danger and such the male wont hurt the babies.

  5. Yes the duck & drake can safely stay together all during the period of incubation ,the broody bird is said to ’sit’ on the eggs till they hatch, never seen one’ lie ;on her eggs ducks eggs take.around 28 days to hatch.
It is difficult to predict behaviour toward new hatchlings ,slightest suspicion of aggresion & he should be moved male birds behaviour range from extreme care to indifference, both of which sjould raise no alarm, but hatchlings need to be out of harms way,so no aggresion can be tolerated.
Ducks will lay an egg each day or one on alternate days ,but never a clutch of several in just one night.

  6. Yes, its perfectly fine to keep the ale in the same pen, even when they hatch. Make sure that they have plenty of water and staw so mom can be cumfortable.
