That said, your question is “how can I make a killing in 10 days in the stock market.” Frankly, you probably need to hold most purchases more than 10 days, and most people who tell you other wise are probably trying to sell you a bridge in Brooklyn. Much of what affects short term losses and gains are the result of panic and rumor mongering, not the result of any underlying strength or weakness in the market. Canadian REITS are unconnected to the sub-prime mortgage market, but because they have “real estate” in the title, they’ve taken serious hits in pricing. It will likely take more than a week for the prices to recover, even though there is NO underlying problem.
The entire market is that way. Some days the news is great, and the market goes down. Some days, the news is bad, and the market goes down. Some days, it goes up, regardless of the “news.”
