Two hard drives, will one be ok if I reinstall winXP on C?

Ksbnett asked:

I need to reinstall windows XP on my C drive because I have tried everything else and my computer is just too slow and has too many errors. I recently installed a second hard drive which holds my media (music, videos, etc). I have a large collection of music and do not want to risk loosing it. If I reinstall windows xp on drive C, should the second hard drive still be ok and keep my media safe? Thanks so much!

yes windows xp cd will only reformat on the C drive, your D drive will be safe.

  2. Hi. Yes it will but just to be sure, disconnect drive D during the OS install.

  3. Yes, that should work fine.

  4. you can just get one but if i where you i would get 2 one for the oporating system and then one for all your files and installers and stuff, it will make your boot super fast!
