A LCD tv would be your best choice. Playing video games on a plasma screen will result in burn in. Depending on your video game system you may want to get a HDTV, to get the best picture quality.
well i have a philips ambilight 37 in LCD hdtv and it is 1080i not 1080p which is better! i have a ps3 and a wii they both look pretty good but ps3 is better because of the graphics and also that it is in hdmi(highdefinition multimeadia interface) if you are going to get a t.v make sure that it is bigger than 40 in because then you can see the differance between 1080i and 1080p what i am trying to say is 1080 p is the best in hd(highdefinition) and if you get a bigger than 40 in then you will see the differance is much better than 1080i! thats if you want your gaming system to work at its fullest potential!
Money is always an issue to think about. Now LCD are get less an less and there quality is going up an up on them. Res an pics are importing as well as refresh rate. rent a center have use one and it is a good place to try things for a mouth and then decide. and a mouth will not up set them and you can change them as well ( I have) so with out knowing how much you can send this is the best I can do.
An LCD TV with HDMI inputs or 1080i High Definition could be good for th PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, PS2, GC, and XBOX.

I would say a 32″ CRT television is perfect for gaming, because the direct view screen is not adversely affected by the speed of the gaming graphics. The ones like Plasma, LCD, DLP are affected by that, giving distortion, plus burn in on the screen.
