What is the charge of the element Silver?

I thought all the transition metals told us their charges with roman numerals [ie, tin(IV) ].
If they don’t tell you, then how do you know what that transition metal’s charge is? Do you just assume it’s 2+ because that’s what all the elements in Group 2 are?
Or is Silver even a transition metal?
