What should baseball do with Bobby Bonds now that he has been indicted for perjury and conspiracy?

Steve C asked:

Bobby Bonds has now been indicted for conspiracy to obstruct justice and perjury involved in his illegal use of steroids. His former trainer is now in prison because Bonds won’t tell the truth about his involvement. What should baseball do with him if he is convicted of these crimes?

    it was actually Barry Bonds

  2. Bobby Bonds???

  3. Bobby Bonds is an old man who hasnt played major league baseball for 30 years. Barry Bonds hasnt been indicted for anything of the sort you knucklehead. Get a life!

  4. ask him out for dinner

  5. Spock wouldnt kick a man when hes down — but the rest of us can F— him !!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Barry Bonds (Bobby is his late dad), should be unofficially shunned. Bud Selig and Major League Basball should turn their back on him and allow Gene Orza and Donald Fehr to defend the low life.

  7. hpefully you measn barry, but anywa, suspend him for a year, or ban him, only way to get the respect needed!

Not a surprise to me, I think he will be banned for 3 years.

  9. He meant to say Barry, of course. But he’s not lying. Here’s the story!

He’s finally indicted. This is the best day of my life. I knew Bonds had it coming.

  10. Not only is Bonds a liar and a cheat, so is baseball. The league knew all along that this cheater was playing under false pretenses. Yet they let millions of fans pay outrageous ticket prices to watch this cheating SOB hit meaningless home runs.

Shame on baseball. Shame on Bud Selig for allowing Bonds to play. Baseball better do the right thing and erase Bonds so-called records from the books.

To the doubters, why do you think Greg Anderson was sitting in jail, for his health???????

I hope that put Bonds and OJ in the same freakin’ cell block.

THANK GOD BONDS WILL NOW, NEVER BE INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME!

  11. what? Bobby Bonds!?!?!? NOOOOO! NOT BOBBY!
fuck barry, I hope his ass gets thrown in jail BUT NOT BOBBY
such a great respected player he was
sadly his son has ashamed the sport he once greatly contributed too
    R.I.P. BOBBY
    FUCK BARRY

  12. here is what I think.. They should find Osama Bin Laden first.

  13. like pete rose banned for life an a non recognitionof the hr record, in others words babe ’s hr record are not surpassed

His record will definitely be wiped out or put with an asterisk. He will likely be either suspended for a long time or kicked out of baseball forever. I believe he will be banned forever due to the fact that he is close to the end of his career (only a year or two off). I strongly push for his expellment from professional baseball.
EDIT — I just read up on it and tuned into ESPN and it says he is facing the max of about 30 years in prison. As a result, he will not play the game of baseball ever again. I am for this decision and hope he faces a good chunk of that time. He is one of the worst role models any kid and anybody for that matter can have/admire. I am looking forward to see what happens.

  15. Bobby Bonds is Barry Bonds’s late father.

  16. lol shake it off we know you meant to write barry. major league baseball should just suspend bonds without pay until he eventually retires. im sure he wont stay in baseball if hes convicted. bonds will be gone and hopefully out of the public eye before u know it.

    can you read
    are you american!
    it’ s barry bond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Well, Bobby Bonds Sr. is dead, so they can’t do much to him. And Bobby Bonds Jr. (Barry’s younger brother) never made the majors, and hasn’t played professionally in nearly a decade, so they don’t have to do much with him either.

I suspect you meant to say Barry, though. If he is convicted, he should be banned from the game. His steroid use was injurious to the integrity of the sport for a number of years, and to do anything less than banning him would be an injustice to the game.

  19. Bobby is still dead. The government cannot indict him. Leave him alone.

  20. he might have did wrong(not saying that he did) but he still is the a good baseball player. It is possible that some of it could be because he is an African American and he broke the home run record. you are Innocent until are found guilty.

  21. wow you guys are all so boring barry bonds barry bonds who cares

  22. just another jock on February 6th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
