What would be a good motivational, self-help, realistic book?

Kelly asked:

There’s a 25 year old man in my life I love very much, but is having a hard time in life right now so we’re putting off having a relationship so he can work on himself. He used to be a Marine but due to unexpected physical aspects his dream and goals vanished. Now he feels like he has no purpose. He has bitterment towards God. And doesn’t feel as motivated about life as he once did. He also has ADHD which makes it hard for him to focus on school which is all he really has right now to keep him busy. I’m just trying to find ways of helping him and he does enjoy reading. Any other suggestions are welcome.

  1. I dont know of any books, but since you are asking on the internet, why doesnt he read on the internet? Chat rooms, websites, anywhere and everywhere from all over the globe can maybe assist him (and you!).

I am sure it probably helps him alot to have someone that loves him as much as you do.. sometimes you have to have to have someone to believe in you before you can believe in yourself :)

  2. The Puirpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, its a very good book page by page, very motivational and enlightening words. He will be guided and directed during and after reading the book, all topics are applicable to all challenges and trial in life.

And ofcourse, the best book of all books is The Bible.

    God Bless.

  3. all i can give you is the book Chicken soup for the soul [ there are many versions] and the bible [i was very sad, lonley and they really helped!]
