purchase Acronis True Image software (www.acronis.com). One of its features will do exactly what you need. Basically you’ll install your new harddrive as a secondary drive. Run Acronis and have it “clone” your current drive to your new secondary drive. Then turn off the computer, remove the current drive, set the new drive as the primary drive and you’re good to go. You’ll now have a new, bigger harddrive with EXACTLY the same information as your previous drive. Acronis is not free, but very reasonably priced and will save you tons of time/effort (and it’s also a very good way to make backup images of your drive)
