whom do I seek out for help about my job and the issues that have seemed to have me laid-off unfairly?

Misstree asked:

I have worked for Fed Ex for just over a year now and have been having it out with my main boss {not my direct supervisor whom has seen me and my job performance all this time}but- his boss.I work with the smalls inputing them into the system so customers can trace their packages. It isnt even peak season (xmas) but our volumn has gotten me overwhelmed. My supervisor has moved to the day shift /upper management. I work nights and the OTHER BOSS had changed my position. He worked with me a short time on some training but then sent me home for the night. I assumed I would be back at that new spot , next day but no back to the same old overwhelment. This time I asked that boss and my new one for help and they just ignored me and Iwas sent home again. The following day he changed my position again to an area I couldnt physically succeed in and once again I was sent home with: “Will call you tomorrow if we need you.My newly gone supervisor would label me one of his best workers so why this?

  1. Go to the labor board the should be able to resolve the problem

  2. File for unemployment and get a lawyer.

  3. welcome to corprit downsizing, wich is better,to get laid off or to get laid on?

  4. It sounds to me like they are trying to get rid of you by making you quit. I’d talk to him (professionally) and mention that you enjoy your job, blah blah, and would like to do the best you can; however, you are finding the workload a bit overwhelming and need his support to resolve the issue. Ask him “what can I do to better the situation and what kind of support can you provide?” Then talk to human resources if all fails. Maybe they can transfer you to another area. If not - then find another job - get your newly gone supervisor to provide you with a reference and put this behind you.

You have to choose your battles wisely. Some are worth fighting for and others not.

Best of luck to you - keep your chin up and try and be positive.
