  1. my social-studies teacher buys games from the UK for his PS2, and he told me that games from other countries won’t work on our gaming systems unless you get a special chip installed in your PS2 that will let you play that game. but i’m not sure what that chip is called.

  2. PS2 games are region-controlled. This is because Sony doesn’t want you to be able to play imported games without buying a PS2 from that area. You can get a “mod-chip” installed to make it work, but those are not supported by Sony and may even technically be illegal.

So unless you want someone to go under the hood and mod your PS2, I’m afraid you’re out of luck. Sorry =(

  3. well im sory for your loss but the ps2 doesnt have a international chip. (the nintendo ds does though:) ) id recomend going on ebay and looking for a malasian ps2

you need to install a mod chip if the game you bought is not an original copy. besides that, your PS2 may not be the PAL version. If i’m not mistaken your PS2 should be NTSC version.

  5. cause most of the games in malaysia are pirated version. you’ll need a pirated ps2 to play the pirated versions. im not kidding. someone told me about this some time ago..

  6. Since i’m Malaysian, your PS2 is not compatible with the video games from Malaysia because it is pirated. You need a special chip installed for this. But, i’ve tried and some of the pirated PS2 games like FIFA Street don’t work.
