Why will McCain be better than George Bush?

1- He has a long history of working across party lines to pass legislation.
2- He has the integrity and independence of thought not to be pushed around by his VP and cabinet.

As much as I support Obama, I do have to say that John McCain is a more to the center (moderate) than George W. Bush.
He’s also more willing to listen to the other side when it comes to sensitive issues, as opposed to being stubborn, like our current president is.
BTW, Barack Obama is NOT a Muslim! He’s a Christian; always has been, and always will be.

yes. i think mccain has alot more experiance over bush and obama. but equal with hillary.
I love the way you worded this question. I’m not sure that all Republicans think he would be better, although as you suggest above there is a good argument that ANYONE would be better. I started writing an article on McCain’s life and career as it relates to POW questions. It’s turning into a book.
What I have found is that over the years he has crafted two brilliant images for himself that are never challenged. One is, of course, the “maverick” image. Although it is shown time and time again that he votes almost in lockstep with Bush he maintains that image because voting records are not sound byte friendly.
His second bit of image wizardry is that of “campaign finance reformer”. He started running with that while the Keating Five scandal was still hot. The irony is wonderful. He had taken more (monetarily) from Keating than any of the other four men, but he managed to turn the whole thing on its head by cranking up the McCain-Feingold legislation which basically put limits on what he himself was being accused of.
He never has been quite serious enough of a presidential candidate to have the other party try to destroy him, so the legends are still there. He is a REFORMER don’t you see. That means that no matter what is happening bad he will reform it.
Although I never thought I would say this I am starting to think he will lose because of his age. He is making a lot of gaffes. They may have nothing to do with his age, but that will be in peoples minds.

also we don’t know if 9/11 was staged- it seems like it was.
